Apollo Resort Marine Blue – Nagata
Apollo Resort Marine Blue has a wonderful location next to the kilometre long, golden sandy beach of Inakahama. The accommodation is on the outskirts of the peaceful village of Nagata on the west coast of the island.
The Apollo Resort Marine Blue hotel has beautiful sea views and a long wood deck to relax and watch the sunset. The accommodation has 6 western-style rooms and 4 Japanese-style rooms. There is also a large bath and sauna with panoramic views of the sea. If you are looking for peace and quiet then Nagata is a great location. However, it is quite isolated and far from the hiking areas, so renting a car is recommended.
Prices are around 22,000 yen per person including 2 meals for 2 people sharing a room. However, room prices vary depending on the season.
The beach is a RAMSAR protected site due to its status as the most important breeding site for Loggerhead turtles in Japan. Turtles visit the beach to nest from mid-May to late summer and during this period it is possible to take part in guided tours to visit the beach at night to watch the turtles lay their eggs. The baby turtles hatch from mid-summer to late summer. You may be able to see the baby turtles from the Apollo Resort Marine Blue verandah early in the morning, but we do ask visitors to stay off the beach early in the morning so as not to disturb the turtles as they make their way to the sea.
